Honey Recipes

Back when things were typed on a typewriter instead of written on a screen, the Nova Scotia Government at the time, produced a little recipe booklet.. filled with Honey Recipes.  It has no date, no author, just the title `Honey Recipes` It was published back when we had a Nova Scotia Department of Agriculture & Marketing Horticulture & Biology Services Branch with Hon. W.J. Hawkins, Minister & W.V. Grant, Deputy Minister.

Future Foodie

My youngest decided she wanted to bake something, and being the little foodie she is.. I’m not about to say No when she walks in asking to bake ‘something’. From Birth this child of mine has had a love of food, running into the kitchen when my mixer starts to help, to giving the cook a hug when it’s super yummy (and heaven help us if it isn’t. My heart goes out to Chef Ramsey’s Mother, I feel your ‘raising a chef’ pain)

Vintage Honey Buns Recipe

One day, my little one will have her very own restaurant… She told me so. I might as well encourage it.. and help her explore different recipes.. Vintage ones being the best as they only have real ingredients, making everything from scratch.

She decided to try the `Honey Buns` recipe, as it had the most spilled food on the page. Someone in the past returned to this page over and over again, therefore it had to be a tasty favorite, she figured. My Smart little Cookie.

The Honey Buns were tasty.. crunchy cornflakes in the middle with soft raisins… My little Ramsay gave them a 6 out of 10, which is more like a 8 out of 10 for those of us with a less discerning palate.
