Welcome to Nova Scotia’s Sunflower Maze!
The Petals have fallen, and our season is now over.
Our flowers are now seeds.
Thank you for stopping by, we hope you had a lovely time.
We will see you again next August, when the first flower in the first section begins to bloom.
To watch for next season’s bloom, or to see a bit of summer on those cold snowy days,
visit @AfieldofSunflowers on Facebook or @NovaScotiaSunflowers on Instagram
Want to Get lost in a field of Sunflower Seeds?
or
Go fly a kite.. up where the air is clear?
Looking to unplug the family for a day.. and show them how you played when you were their age?
Or just need to take a moment to connect with a bit of Nature?
We have the perfect spot.
**As we are an outdoor event on a hill of thick, sticky when wet, clay, we are forced to close if it rains for mucky, safety & parking reasons.. we will post on our social media if that is the case. (or look to the bottom of this page) Still unsure? Give us a text or call
***Please…. No dogs.
We (and the cows with their newborns in the pasture next to the field) would prefer it if you left them at home so they don’t have to sit in a hot car.. or maybe take them to the great dog park in Hantsport after picking them up a treat (and you a coffee at the nearby Barking Bean Cafe.) If you are really stuck, travelling with your pup and still want to visit, our girls offer puppy sitting at the shed for well-behaved pups upon advanced request. (see FAQ for more on our No Dog policy)
What to do on your visit:
- Take a million pictures, find the answers or admire some art.
- Stop to smell a flower, watch a butterfly flutter, or listen to the bees hum.
- Read a book, draw a picture, or write a poem.
- Book yourself in a little Nature Therapy Session
- Knit a sweater, crochet a facecloth, or macrame a plant holder
- Fly a kite, learn about aerodynamics, and maybe let that string out all the way.
- Play soccer croquet, our version of Disk Golf or have a game of ring toss.
- Go for a long walk, breathe in that fresh air, or watch the tide rise and fall.
- Watch the eagles play above the barn, while the cows graze in the tall grass by the tidal river.
- Enjoy the day with your family. Unplugged…making memories the old-fashioned way.
